Rival Trainer Silver

This is Silver, the rival trainer in my story over on fanfiction.net. As with the games (and pokemon adventures) he stole a Totodile from Prof. Elm's lab early in the story, and Gold had made it his mission to get it back (not that he had a lot of luck). Shortly before arriving in Violet City, Gold and Crystal ran into Silver outside of Dark Cave and he and Gold battled.
I never feel as though I have to justify the pokemon I give my characters, but as to Silver and his Teddiursa and Bellsprout, well just think about what they evolve into, that should answer the question.
